HAAS ST-30 CNC lathe was built in 2018 in the United States by HAAS
AUTOMATION, INC. The machine on offer is an excellent choice for both
unit and series production. It is capable of performing a number of
complex operations, i.e. precision turning or threading of workpieces.
All these machining processes are performed inside a large, fully
illuminated work area by means of a powerful spindle and cutting
tools. The spindle, driven by a high-powered motor, reaches a maximum
speed of 3400 rpm and moves in two X,Z axes with feeds of 457 mm and
584 mm respectively. Tools taken from the 12-position turret are
continuously measured and calibrated to guarantee maximum machining
precision. The hydraulic tailstock, in turn, ensures precise
positioning and support of the workpiece during the work cycle.
The HAAS ST-30 is distinguished by its compact design, engineered with
extreme rigidity and high thermal stability in mind. The use of an
inclined bed reduces vibrations and increases structural stability
through better distribution of loads during machining. This solution
also facilitates chip removal, as the chips automatically fall onto
the chip conveyor under the influence of gravity. The HAAS ST30 CNC
turning center is also equipped with, among others, driven tools, a C
axis and a CNC controller with an intuitive interface and access to
many advanced functions.
