Venjakob RNV 2.0 Exhaust Air Purification System
The plant burns gaseous pollutants and odors from the production
exhaust air to release clean air into the environment.
Extraction: Process air containing solvents or odour-laden (e.g. from
paint shops, the chemical industry or printing plants) is fed into the
system.
Preheating: The contaminated air flows through internal ceramic heat
accumulators and is heated to an extremely high temperature.
Combustion (oxidation): In the combustion chamber, the natural gas
intake (the support burner) ignites the air. At a temperature of up to
850 °C, the organic pollutants (VOCs) completely decompose into
harmless water vapor (\(H_{2}O\)) and carbon dioxide (\(CO_{2}\)
Energy recovery: The purified, hot air then flows through a second
ceramic bed and releases its heat again.
The system "stores" the heat for the next load of dirty air.
This makes the system enormously energy-efficient, as hardly any gas
has to be fired after the start-up phase.
