Kawasaki Gas Turbine Cogeneration Power Plant 34 MW / 60 Hz
This modern 34 MW Kawasaki L30A Gas Turbine Power Plant is a highly
efficient and environmentally friendly cogeneration facility designed
for industrial and utility-scale power generation. Manufactured in
2020 and maintained in excellent condition, the plant combines
reliable electrical generation with heat recovery, achieving total
fuel utilization efficiency of up to 85.5%. Operation was stopped on
Stopped in March 2024 in good condition and the plant was preserved
with KHI’s maintenance instructions.
The plant is powered by a Kawasaki L30A two-shaft industrial gas
turbine featuring a 14-stage axial-flow compressor, advanced Dry Low
Emission (DLE) combustion system and high-efficiency turbine
technology. The unit delivers approximately 34 MW electrical output
with thermal efficiency exceeding 41%, while maintaining exceptionally
low NOx emissions of approximately 15 ppm without water or steam
injection. Major overhauls are typically required only every six
years.
Power generation is provided through a Meiden synchronous generator
rated at 37,945 kVA, producing electricity at 11 kV and 60 Hz. The
cogeneration configuration also includes a Kawasaki absorption chiller
utilizing recovered thermal energy to provide approximately 2.46 MW of
cooling capacity, significantly improving overall plant efficiency and
operating economics.
Designed for reliability and simplified maintenance, the Kawasaki L30A
features modular construction and proven Japanese engineering. This
little-used 2020 power plant represents an excellent opportunity to
acquire a modern, high-efficiency, low-emission power generation asset
at a fraction of replacement cost.
